A Once In A Lifetime Opportunity

I just talked to my long time friend who is now based in the US. She got married to her high school sweetheart two years ago. I am so glad that in spite of our distance she make it a point to contact me every now and then. We talked about so many things and I am so glad to know that she is now an expectant mother. Yes, she is now 3 months pregnant. They've been expecting since last year and when they learned that she is finally pregnant, they were so excited. I am so happy for them. They will be expecting to have the baby on December but as early as now they have so many plans. They've been considering storing the baby's cord blood. Storing your baby's cord can be very beneficial for their baby in the future. It is said that preserving the cord blood can be helpful in treating 75 diseases. It is also 100% match to the infant donor and up to 1 out 4 to his siblings. My friend and her husband will now be enrolling to cryo-cell to avail of their discounted rates when one use the discount code HOT. Cyro-cell is said to be the leading industry in cord blood banking with over 175,000 clients and more accreditations than any other private cord blood bank. I told my friend to grab this opportunity in protecting her future child because this is can only happen once in a lifetime

Billiard Game With Hubby

It's past 4 am already but Hubby and I are still awake. It's been a very tiring day for us. We went to church with the kids then went straight to my grandparents house. I am so happy spending time with my family. I enjoy everything that I am doing with them. Right after the children went to bed, Hubby and I decided to play online. We love playing billiards so hubby and I agreed to play an online billiard game. Since hubby has his own laptop, we decided to play against each other. Hubby and I joined 8c1.net . This site allows us to play online billiard game. I am so amazed that this site is loads quite fast. It has several rooms wherein you can also interact with other players from different countries. This site is so cool and mind you, I won 4 out of 5 games with hubby.

I better hit the bed now.... till my next post!

Check Out The Nickelodeon Widget

Page_block_dscf4879-20071001-203245

Time really flies fast. It was my daughter Symone's first day of school last Monday. It was just like yesterday when she was so excited for her summer vacation. Last summer I made up activities for my little girl. I enrolled her on a reading enhancement class to improve her reading skills. I always make it a point that every summer my children has to do something productive like taking them on trips, bringing them to zoo and bringing them to art classes. Next summer hubby and I are considering to have my daughter experience a summer camp. We know that she is old enough to join such events that will improve her personality.

There's this new Nickelodeon widget that helps parents like me to check out some local Summer Camps to make their child's summer worthwhile. Local summer events can be checked out using this Nickelodeon widget. Just enter your zip code and you can find fun activities not just for your children but for your whole family.
Check it out because they are also holding a contest. I entered the contest and I hope to win of their cool prizes. I also told some of my friends to check out this Nickelodeon widget and enter the contest too. Who knows maybe one of us will be lucky enough to win.

Influenza A(H1N1) Booklet

Everyday, tens and hundreds of people are getting infected with this deadly virus. Here in the Philippines, approximately 500 confirmed cases of A(H1N1) has been reported and the number is growing everyday. As a mother, I am bothered and worried. I am scared that my children might get the flu. My eldest is now in prep school and as my first step in protecting her from getting the virus I taught her how to wash her hands properly and I asked her to bring hand sanitizer in school.

My cousin in law sent me a booklet about Influenza A(H1N1), it's symptoms, it's signs and some helpful tips on how to prevent it. If you want to have a copy just click the image below. This Flu Booklet is on .pdf format.

Thanks to Toni for sharing this.

Endurance Athletes

Endurance training and racing requires quite a commitment from athletes ... the commitment is for time and money ... they put up with pain, they eat for the event and buy supplements that cost a bundle ... their equipment is specialized to their events (shoes, high performance clothing, bikes, skis, wet suit, heart monitor, exercise equipment, etc., etc.) Some of the athletes are in the professional ranks, but most are age-groupers. Why do the age-groupers do it?

From my inbox..... Marriage

To those who are married, Not married… and soon to be married

MARRIAGE

When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I've got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.

Suddenly I didn't know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a divorce... I raised the topic calmly.

She didn't seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why?
I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we didn't talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to Dew. I didn't love her anymore. I just pitied her!

With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company.

She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back what I had said for I loved Dew so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now.

The next day, I came back home very late and found her writing something at the table. I didn't have supper but went straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast because I was tired after an eventful day with Dew.

When I woke up, she was still there at the table writing. I just did not care so I turned over and was asleep again.

In the morning she presented her divorce conditions: she didn't want anything from me, but needed a month's notice before the divorce.
She requested that in that one month we both struggle to live as normal a life as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son had his exams in a month's time and she didn't want to disrupt him with our broken marriage.

This was agreeable to me.. But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her into out bridal room on our wedding day.

She requested that everyday for the month's duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever morning. I thought she was going crazy. Just to make our last days together bearable I accepted her odd request.

I told Dew about my wife's divorce conditions.. . . She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce, she said scornfully..

My wife and I hadn't had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy.. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding mummy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; don't tell our son about the divorce. I nodded, feeling somewhat upset. I put her down outside the door. She went to wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office.

On the second day, both of us acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest. I could smell the fragrance of her blouse. I realized that I hadn't looked at this woman carefully for a long time.. I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her hair was greying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her. For a minute I wondered what I had done to her.

On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me.

On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn't tell Dew about this. It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger.

She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown bigger. I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that was the reason why I could carry her more easily.

Suddenly it hit me... she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart. Subconsciously I reached out and touched her head.

Our son came in at the moment and said, Dad, it's time to carry mum out.. To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had become an essential part of his life. My wife gestured to our son to come closer and hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute. I then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally.. I held her body tightly; it was just like our wedding day.

But her much lighter weight made me sad. On the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step. Our son had gone to school. I held her tightly and said, I hadn't noticed that our life lacked intimacy.

I drove to office.... jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door. I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind... I walked upstairs. Dew opened the door and I said to her, Sorry, Dew, I do not want the divorce anymore.

She looked at me, astonished, and then touched my forehead. Do you have a fever? She said. I moved her hand off my head. Sorry, Dew, I said, I won't divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because she and I didn't value the details of our lives, not because we didn't love each other any more. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home on our wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death do us apart.

Dew seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into tears. I walked downstairs and drove away.

At the floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card.. I smiled and wrote, I'll carry you out every morning until death do us apart.

That evening I arrived home, flowers in my hands, a smile on my face, I run up stairs, only to find my wife in the bed - dead.

The small details of your lives are what really matter in a relationship. It is not the mansion, the car, property, the money in the bank. These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves. So find time to be your spouse's friend and do those little things for each other that build intimacy. Do have a real happy marriage!

If you don't share this, nothing will happen to you..

If you do, you just might save a marriage..... !

How To Avoid Dengue

For our information about dengue.....

DOH: Avoid wearing black, dark blue clothes to avoid dengue

06/09/2009 | 10:02 AM

MANILA, Philippines - With “dengue season" now here, health officials advised the public Tuesday to refrain from wearing black or dark blue clothes to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes carrying the dengue virus.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said mosquitoes are attracted to dark blue and black.

“Attracted ang lamok na nagkakalat ng dengue sa maitim ang kulay ... Kailangan siguraduhin nila na ang search and destroy (policy) sa kapaligiran ay ipaiiral [Mosquitoes are attracted to dark colors, especially black and dark blue. That’s why we must make sure we search and destroy their breeding places]," Duque said in an interview on dzXL radio.

He said that students whose uniforms are colored black or dark blue should exercise extra caution.

Duque reiterated his advice for the public to take extra effort in keeping their surroundings dry and clean, to prevent dengue-spreading mosquitoes from breeding.

He also said people suffering from fever or body pains should go to a hospital for a checkup right away.

“Medical emergency ang dengue, nakamamatay ito. Sa isang kagat lang baka ka matepok [Dengue is a medical emergency and is potentially deadly. You could die from one mosquito bite]," he said. - GMANews.TV

Our Sunday

I woke up kinda late today. I am not feeling well and I slept real late because I had to do a round the clock temperature check up of my daughter. Symone had a fever last night till early morning today. Symone is now ok and the fever didn't occur again. Late in the afternoon, hubby and I decided to do a little shopping with the two kiddos. It was fun but also very tiring.

Anyway, Hubby and I are now looking for a nice Bedroom Sets. We decided to sell our old bed and buy a new one. We both agreed that our bedroom needs some makeover. We recently bought two new beds for the children and I think that now is the right time to save enough money for hubby and I's most needed bedroom makeover. We wanted something like the picture shown below. I saw this picture from spacify.com. I love their wide collections of Bedroom Sets. You can definitely find sets that you will like. They are now offering quick and free shipping so you better check it out.

Before I Go To Bed

It's past 3 in the morning and I just got home from Ruby Rose's wake. We stayed at the wake for hours. I can feel the pain that my friend Rochelle is going through. I just hope that the gruesome death of Ruby will be given justice soon.

My friends and I decide to go at the nearest Starbucks to have a little chit chat before going home. We talked about so many things. We talked about all the things that happened when we were still in college. I missed them so much. We planned on having a little reunion soon. I just hope that our college "barkada" will be complete on that event.

Anyway, I will be ending this post now because I still have to do some ec droppping. Good Night and till my next post!

Goodbye Ruby!

My sincerest condolences to the Barrameda Family for the loss of Ruby Rose. I watched the news and learned than it was indeed the body of Ruby that was found in a steel case floating somewhere in the waters of Navotas.

Ruby was reportedly missing two years ago. There were so many misconceptions and conclusions about her disappearance. At long last, Ruby is now reunited with her family and friends.

To my friend Rochelle, I may not be able to say this to you but in my heart I know that the death of Ruby Rose will be given justice in "His" own time. Ruby Rose will always be remembered. Be strong Rochelle! Bear in mind the Ruby has fought her battle... She is now at peace.

Clay Balls

Clay Balls

A man was exploring caves by the Seashore. In one of the caves he found a canvas bag with a bunch of hardened clay balls. It was like someone had rolled clay balls and left them out in the sun to bake. They didn't look like much, but they intrigued the man, so he took the bag out of the cave with him. As he strolled along the beach, he would throw the clay balls one at a time out into the ocean as far as he could.

He thought little about it, until he dropped one of the clay balls and it cracked open on a rock . Inside was a beautiful, precious stone!

Excited, the man started breaking open the remaining clay balls. Each contained a similar treasure. He found thousands of dollars worth of jewels in the 20 or so clay balls he had left.

Then it struck him. He had been on the beach a long time. He had thrown maybe 50 or 60 of the clay balls with their hidden treasure into the ocean waves. Instead of thousands of dollars in treasure, he could have taken home tens of thousands, but he had just thrown it away!

It's like that with people. We look at someone, maybe even ourselves, and we see the external clay vessel. It doesn't look like much from the outside. It isn't always beautiful or sparkling, so we discount it.

We see that person as less important than someone more beautiful or stylish or well known or wealthy. But we have not taken the time to find the treasure hidden inside that person.

There is a treasure in each and every one of us. If we take the time to get to know that person, , then the clay begins to peel away and the brilliant gem begins to shine forth.

May we not come to the end of our lives and find out that we have thrown away a fortune in friendships because the gems were hidden in bits of clay.

I am so blessed by the gems of friendship I have with you. Thank you for looking beyond my clay vessel.

APPRECIATE EVERY SINGLE THING YOU HAVE

LIFE IS TOO SHORT AND FRIENDS ARE TOO FEW!

Music Monday - Can't take my eyes off you

My entry for Music Monday this week is a song that I heard yesterday. It was a song that reminded me of my childhood. I remember that this song was played over and over again in our car every Sunday. My father loves this song so much. It was his favorite during that time. Hearing this song again made me remember how my father loves to take us out for a long drive every Sunday. This particular song is also my theme song for my little girl. Symone also loves this song and she knows how to sing it.
